OIC urges UN action against Israeli crime in Gaza

TEHRAN, July 12 (MNA) – The OIC envoys to the UN have urged immediate action by the UN to stop Israel’s crimes against Gazans.

Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported from the UN headquarters in New York that Gholamhosein Dehghani, Iran’s permanent envoy to the UN and other OIC envoys attended a meeting to address the recent Israeli strikes on Gaza Strip.

Dehghani, along with other OIC envoys condemned Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza and said OIC countries were willing to support and send humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

Dhghani also pointed to Zionist Regime’s racist, expansionist and aggressive policies in the last five decades, and described the regime’s recent strike on civilians on Gaza as ‘examples of war crime and crime against humanity.’

He welcomed the recent OIC statement issued on last Thursday in Jeddah as providing grounds for members of the OIC and NAM, and other international organizations to take ‘concrete measures’ to stop Zionists’ crimes.

The meeting agreed to ‘double its attempts,’ especially in the Security Council and when the situation demands, in the General Assembly for an immediate halt on strikes on Gaza.

Indonesia and Morocco have announced their humanitarian aid for Gaza and called other countries to help Palestinians in times of difficulty.

Iran also proposed holding a photo exhibition in the UN headquarters in New York to depict the victims of the recent attacks on Gaza civilians and buildings, which was welcomed by the meeting and the State of Palestine was assigned with the task.
